MGM Resorts International announced Wednesday it will launch a casino that is online poker web site in the New Jersey market under the playMGM brand.
As New Jersey’s on line gambling market goes from energy to strength, MGM is set to introduce its playMGM real-money platform in their state later on this year.
The casino giant said it had entered into an agreement with UK-listed GVC, which will provide the software for the platform. No time that is specific has been set for the launch, apart from that it is due to occur ‘this year.’
It represents MGM’s first foray into real-money online gaming under its very own brand name, although, as owner for the Borgata, it is already providing online casino and poker with GVC via theborgata.com.
MGM wasn’t a new player in Atlantic City when nj-new Jersey regulated and legalized online gambling in late 2013.
Whilst it had been a joint-owner of the Borgata, with Boyd Gaming, it had opted to provide its license up in Atlantic City following the nj raised concerns about the company’s partnership with Pansy Ho in the MGM Grand Macau, whose father the regulator suspected of having links to the Triads.
